One of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ biggest donors for his presidential run in 2024 is none other than Morteza “Mori” Hosseini and his wife Forough, both of whom have donated tens of thousands of dollars to a political action committee (PAC) that funds various Democrat Party leaders including Nancy Pelosi and Jamie Raskin, the lead impeachment manager against former President Donald Trump.
The Iranian American Political Action Committee – Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian American (PAAIA), as it is called, spent gobs of cash on major Democrat candidates between 2004 and 2011. And now PAAIA is shoveling money into the coffers of DeSantis, who is supposedly a Republican.
Using aliases such as “Morteza Hosseini Kargar” and “Morteza Hosseini-Kargar,” Hosseini and his wife have sent cash to Friends of Hillary (Clinton) and Friends of (Anthony) Weiner, two additional far-left organizations.
Hosseini has also funneled some cash to Republicans, but at much smaller amounts and typically to RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) such as former Republican leader Paul Ryan, neoconservative Dan Crenshaw and “Never Trumper” Ben Sasse.
(Related: Last month, DeSantis signed legislation to outlaw federal central bank cryptocurrencies from being used in Florida.)
By and large, most of Hosseini’s political donations go to either far-left Democrats or left-leaning RINOs who hate Trump. What does that say about DeSantis being included in the mix?
PAAIA is constantly bragging about how it works alongside a variety of globalist think tanks based out of Washington, D.C. It also spends a lot of cash supporting the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
PAAIA is one of the groups that was most vocal against Trump’s “travel ban,” which was no different than his predecessor Barack Hussein Obama’s travel bans that went largely unnoticed.
The group also blasted the 45th president for ending the Obama-era Iran deal (the JCPOA), which enriched the Islamist regime under the guise of slowing nuclear weapons development in Iran.
Even though Hosseini’s name disappeared from the PAAIA PAC in 2011, his associations with the group did not end. Wife Forough was appointed by DeSantis to head up the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet in 2019. She also serves as the Board Chair of the PAAIA, remaining “a contemporaneous donor,” to quote one report.
“Hosseini often lets Governor DeSantis and his wife use his private jet,” reports further indicate, noting that DeSantis staffer Christina Pushaw and Jeremy Redfern are the ones who brought this to the public’s attention “after the pair publicly panicked about a report into a $92 million COVID cash dump from DeSantis that aids Hosseini’s property developments.”
“Pushaw has gone so far as to dispute accurate descriptions of Hosseini as ‘Iranian,’ complaining that ‘by ‘Iranian,’ they mean an American citizen, of Iranian heritage.’ Hosseini’s own biography boasts of his Iranian birth, and he has been featured on websites such as ‘ImIranian.com’ since 2011,” reports further explain.
This is a pretty damning indictment as to DeSantis’ true allegiances. He is clearly misaligned with Trump, and seems to be more closely aligned with those who hate Trump, including far-left Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Anthony Weiner.
Though DeSantis did some good post-covid to set a precedent for the abolition of mask and jab mandates, he appears to be just another RINO gearing up to say all the right things in the hopes of capturing the White House in 2024.
Admittedly, this is what all politicians do to win their seats, but DeSantis is somewhat more deceptive in that he would seem to stand out from the crowd – except when you pull back the financial curtains to see who is bankrolling him.
